How to Keep the Comic Book Job of your Dreams

I’m reading “The Winning Attitude” by John Maxwell. It’s an old book, but not an old subject. I was just watching a kids show on Saturday that was looking at people in their jobs in the entertainment industry and they were talking to a sound effects guy who produced the sound effects for star wars 3d version. They asked him what it takes to be a sound effects artist. His answer…

…”A good attitude.”

What? you might be thinking. A good attitude, that’s it? He went on to explain, that in that line of work you work with a lot of directors and you have to be willing to roll with the punches and take everything in stride. Be able to adapt, and be positive you can achieve the results needed for any project. … and of course there are schools you can go to now to get the education you need to be this type of artist.

Chances are if you think you can or you think you can’t do something, you are probably right.

A winning attitude that others want to be around is going to be the single most asset to keeping the job you have worked so hard to get.
